go to any show page, ex:

http://www.archive.org/details/TM2011-03-18

and in the upper left corner in the 'download' section, click the link that says "VBR ZIP". What that means is that it is a .zip file (a bundled group of files into 1 file) that consists of "VBR mp3's". VBR stands for Variable Bit Rate. It is an encoding codec that allows mp3's to be made at high quality but low file size.

After you click that link, your computer is going to ask you where to put it. put it on your desktop or wherever. it will download. then when it is done, double click the .zip file and 'unzip' the file (your computer should have the software to do this automatically). it again will ask you where to unzip it.

after you do this, you will have all the files of the show on your computer as mp3s. you can then drag / add them to your ipod touch through itunes.

You can also 'stream' most shows without downloading. that is the music player in the upper RIGHT corner of most show pages.

Read the FAQ too: http://www.archive.org/about/faqs.php#Live_Music_Archive and post here if you have any questions.

we were all new at one time! good luck!
